Over 50% of F1 fans think Lewis Hamilton will regret leaving Mercedes after dominant 2026 start

On TalkingPoints, we asked fans whether Lewis Hamilton would regret his decision to leave Mercedes to join Ferrari in 2025.

With nearly 800 votes, 51.3% of fans (406 votes) believe Hamilton made the wrong decision, and will wish for a do-over if given the chance.

However, 48.7% of fans believe Hamilton going to Ferrari was the correct decision, even with their inability to compete against Mercedes.

Lewis Hamilton looking to turn Canadian GP momentum into genuine title push

Hamilton’s P2 finish in Montreal felt like a real statement from the driver, even bigger than his P3 finish at the Chinese Grand Prix back in April.

Hamilton’s efforts to get the best out of the SF-26 involved taking some big risks in the lead-up to the Canadian Grand Prix.

Hamilton’s decision to abandon the Ferrari simulator proved to pay off, as he looked far more comfortable in Montreal than he did across any other race weekend this season.

But now, with the F1 season entering the busiest period of the year, Hamilton must convert this momentum into a push to try and compete for the world championship.

Strong performances in at least half of the races left ahead of the summer break could allow the seven-time world champion to make a serious impact on the title race.
