Kimi Antonelli has claimed his fourth consecutive win in a row at the Canadian Grand Prix, with George Russell’s retirement allowing him to extend his championship lead to 43 points.
It was the Italian who won the Silver war on Sunday, as Russell suffered a power unit failure at the halfway stage. Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen completed the podium at the Canadian Grand Prix, but Antonelli proved no match after his teammate’s retirement.
The race was cut down to 68 laps after Arvid Lindblad’s Racing Bulls stalled on the grid, resulting in another two formation laps. Eventually, the race got underway, with Lando Norris taking the lead from the two Mercedes off the start.

However, McLaren’s call to start on the intermediate tyre proved to be wrong, with both Norris and Piastri having pitted by the end of lap two. It took the pair out of contention, with Antonelli taking the advantage.
Just like the Sprint race, the Silver Arrows battled for the lead, with Antonelli almost locking up into the back of Russell on lap six. The pair continued to scwabble for position, producing some close racing until the Brit got past his teammate on lap 24.

Antonelli ran wide at the final chicane and accused Russell of forcing him wide, but he relinquished the lead back to his teammate. The Brit looked to be pulling a gap until his W17 suffered an issue on lap 31 and came to a halt on track at turn 10.
Russell threw his headrest onto the track in frustration as Antonelli was handed a huge advantage over Verstappen and Hamilton in the closing stages. The Italian went out of sight and clinched his fourth consecutive race win.
Hamilton and Verstappen kept fans entertained in the final laps, with the Ferrari driver holding on to P2 and his best result for the Maranello outfit, with the Red Bull settling for third.
