Formula 1 legend Damon Hill has admitted that he would love to see one current F1 driver team up with Max Verstappen at Le Mans one day.
Hill posted about the endurance championship on social media after comments on the Dutch world champion.
There has already been a lot of talk about Max Verstappen’s future in Formula 1 even though he’s only 26 and on top of the sport.
He admitted last month that Le Mans is something that he would consider doing once he’s had enough of driving in F1.
Right now, it’s difficult to see him becoming bored with dominating the pinnacle of motorsport.
After winning 19 races last season, he will already be thinking about trying to win titles four and five before a major regulation change coming in 2026.
However, Le Mans appears to be on Verstappen’s radar and Hill would love to see him team up with Fernando Alonso.

Speaking about the series last week, the Dutchman said: “Le Mans I definitely would like to do.
“I’ve been there already, when my Dad used to race in Le Mans. The atmosphere is amazing, so many people. Driving through the night, sunrise, I think it’s really cool.
“I’ve been speaking to Fernando about it. He said he would only want to do it with me again. So, I was like ‘wow, that would be really cool!’”
Hill admits Verstappen and Alonso would be Le Mans ‘dream team’
Posting on his Instagram story in reply to Verstappen’s quotes, he simply said that the pair would be the ‘Dream team’ in the series.
One of the most impressive aspects of Verstappen’s racing style is his concentration.
He became just the third driver in Formula 1 history to complete every single lap in a Formula 1 season this year.
It’s fitting that the record was previously held by Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton who will now be in his sights when it comes to world championships.
However, if Verstappen and Alonso are to drive in Le Mans together as Hill would like, then he might have to do it sooner rather than later.
The Spaniard is 42 and although he looks like he could drive for years and years to come, his ambition is to return to the Dakar Rally.
Whatever happens, it’s unlikely that the pair will be teammates in F1, despite rumours this year that Alonso could replace Sergio Perez.
Instead, he’ll be focusing on improving Aston Martin’s fifth-place finish in the Constructors’ Championship in 2024.
