Antonelli earned his third consecutive win at Miami, becoming the first driver in F1 history to convert his first three pole positions into three wins.
With the win and his stellar performance, Antonelli managed to earn his peers’ respect as he continued to increase his lead in the championship standings.

Despite his big win, Toto Wolff warned Antonelli not to get complacent in his title fight with his Mercedes teammate, George Russell, and to keep his eye on the ball.
But Kimi Antonelli’s performance was far from perfect, with Toto Wolff almost intervening at one point to try and get him on track, literally.

Toto Wolff was ready to radio Kimi Antonelli for repeated mistake during Miami Grand Prix win
Speaking to Sky Sports Germany after the Miami Grand Prix, Mercedes CEO Toto Wolff spoke about Kimi Antonelli’s performance.
While he was thrilled with Antonelli’s growth, the young driver failing to stay within track limits during the race almost caused him to intervene and warn him.
“Kimi has really gotten into his stride now. You can see he’s making fewer mistakes. We still need to work on his track limits somehow, but otherwise, he’s already very strong.
“We could have avoided yesterday’s penalty. But he’s pushing the limits. I’d rather bring back someone who’s driving over the limit.
“I told Bono: If he hits the track limit again, I’m going to radio him. Thankfully, that wasn’t necessary.”

Toto Wolff says Kimi Antonelli must fix ‘unacceptable’ start issue if he wants to be world champion
Toto Wolff also spoke about Kimi Antonelli’s struggles with starts, as it almost cost him the race once again. He believes that this issue needs to be addressed if the young driver wants to win a world title.
“Not good at all. That’s unacceptable if you want to win a world championship. You have to get off to a good start. It’s entirely down to the team, not the rider.
“Both of them lose. That’s unacceptable. We have to get this under control. We’ve watched this for far too long.”
Antonelli has spoken about his starting struggles, noting how much of a struggle they are for him, despite him being able to overcome them by the end of races.
Even Wolff has been critical of Mercedes’ starts this season, showing that this is a team-wide issue, not just one that Antonelli is grappling with.
