McLaren have been very impressive over the season in Formula 1 and are favourites to clinch the Constructors’ Championship.

The British team are leading their nearest rivals Red Bull by 41 points with six rounds to go and are pushing towards their first Constructors’ Championship since 1998.

McLaren have been rapidly developing their car over the year after a promising end to 2023, laying the groundwork for the title-challenging campaign.

This improvement, particularly since the Miami Grand Prix in May, has been impressive and made McLaren consistent frontrunners.

They brought a lot of significant upgrades heading into the United States Grand Prix, which should help them continue their push for the championship.

Despite McLaren bringing a lot of upgrades to the car at Circuit of the Americas, Ted Kravitz while speaking on Sky Sports F1 explained Norris will have more updates than his teammate Oscar Piastri.

Norris will be able to benefit from a new front wing at McLaren over the weekend in Texas, as he looks to keep up his championship challenge.

The British driver is 52 points behind the championship leader Max Verstappen but has momentum with him after winning the Singapore Grand Prix last time out.

With just six rounds to go, there is a very small margin for error for Norris who has made some mistakes in recent races.

The upgrades should help him with performance; and Kravitz explained McLaren have new parts on the front and rear of the car.

He said: “We’ve already established that it’s Lando who’s going to be having the upgraded, well, we think quicker, McLaren think quicker front wing, and Oscar will have the old one.

“Oscar is still going to have six other upgrades because McLaren brought seven upgrades to this race. Still, Oscar’s going to have a little bit of a help on the front suspension.

“There’s a new rear beam wing as well on the rear corner as well. Plenty of good stuff on this McLaren this weekend.”

Lando Norris has to stop making small errors to win the world championship

Norris had a superb victory last time out in Singapore, winning 20 seconds ahead of his title rival Verstappen.

Despite his comfortable lead last time out, the 24-year-old made multiple errors, which nearly cost him victory and handed the advantage to Verstappen.

Norris has also suffered from difficult starts this season for McLaren, which he has sometimes been reluctant to discuss.

If Norris were to overhaul Verstappen and win the championship, he would need to keep up the momentum and score consecutive victories.
