Carlos Sainz’s move on Oscar Piastri has not gone down well with Ralf Schumacher, who wants the Williams driver to be punished further.
After the incident, Sainz justified his collision with Piastri by claiming that the blue flags system and Williams failed to inform him that the Australian was closing in.
Of course, this did little to calm the McLaren driver, as Piastri blasted Sainz and his own team for the incident that he felt cost him a possible win.

It’s hard to blame Piastri for getting upset, given that Sainz was competing with Fernando Alonso for a position that wouldn’t have brought him any significant success.
It appears Ralf Schumacher is supporting Oscar Piastri and wants Carlos Sainz to be punished further to set an example for the rest of the grid.

Ralf Schumacher demands Carlos Sainz penalty to avoid negative ‘precedent’
Speaking to Sky Sports Germany, Ralf Schumacher gave his thoughts on Carlos Sainz’s move on Oscar Piastri and why he deserves to be punished.
Schumacher questioned why Sainz was so aggressive, given that he wasn’t competing for points. But he went one step further, calling the FIA to give Sainz a penalty for the Dutch Grand Prix to make an example out of him.
“That’s something that makes you absolutely furious. It’s all just a meaningless thing, sorry. None of them were even fighting for points.
“Then the race leader comes along, and Sainz drives into him. A complete no-go in my opinion. A normal penalty isn’t enough.
“For me, Carlos Sainz should also be penalised for the next race. He needs to get an extra penalty in qualifying at Zandvoort. Otherwise, this will set a precedent, and it simply can’t happen.”

Carlos Sainz more concerned with Williams future than Oscar Piastri incident
While the backlash he’s received for his move on Piastri is bound to affect him, Sainz is far more likely to be concerned about his future with Williams.
After the Belgian Grand Prix last weekend, Sainz hinted at staying with Williams through 2027, as he wanted to help the team get to where he felt they could be.
However, after a dire result at the Hungarian Grand Prix, Sainz suggested he would think a lot about his future over the summer and come to a decision.
If Sainz decides that he wants to leave Williams and try his luck with another team, it behooves him to make a decision soon so that he can focus on finding a new team for 2027.
