Speaking to Planet F1, Juncadella said Verstappen’s participation in the race showed he was more ‘passionate’ about motorsport than many of his F1 rivals.

“I think not many other F1 drivers would have the will, the drive to come and race here, and he’s been very passionate about this race for many years,” he said.

Juncadella was also struck by Verstappen’s humility despite his glittering CV, adding: “He has a non-ego approach on this championship, and on these cars. He’s not thinking that he’s a four-time world champion, he’s just very honest about everything.”
