Formula 2 team announcement subtly hints that Arvid Lindblad may be joining Racing Bulls in 2026

Arvid Lindblad is the Formula 2 driver most likely to step up to F1 in 2026. A spot may be reserved for him at the Racing Bulls team.

Lindblad isn’t in the top six in the drivers’ standings. He’s 73 points adrift of leader Leonardo Fornaroli, having lost form in recent races.

Since he took his first Feature Race win in Barcelona, Lindblad has only scored points in three out of 10 events. The teenager thought he’d taken victory at Spa before he was disqualified for a technical infringement.

Still, Red Bull will be impressed that he’s scored four podiums and kept up with some of the series’ brightest talents in his first season. Mercedes starlet Kimi Antonelli finished sixth last season, while Ferrari academy driver Oliver Bearman was only 12th.

Arvid Lindblad’s Campos team announce Nikola Tsolov signing for 2026

Red Bull have formed a partnership with the Campos team to develop their young drivers in F2 and F3. And the Valencia outfit have just announced that Nikola Tsolov, another of Helmut Marko’s juniors, will be stepping up to the second tier in 2026.

This means that either Lindblad or teammate Pepe Marti will be moving on. Marti may be 11 points ahead in the standings, but this is his second year.

That’s why Marko’s priority is to hand Lindblad an F1 seat. Journalist Jorge Peiro believes Marti will stay at Campos for another season alongside Tsolov.

In a separate post on X, he adds that Lindblad is ‘almost certain’ to be promoted. Red Bull have just taken a subtle step in that direction.

Who will partner Arvid Lindblad at Racing Bulls? Laurent Mekies has a preference

Isack Hadjar is set to join Red Bull for 2026, so if Lindblad is indeed replacing him at Racing Bulls, then that leaves Liam Lawson and Yuki Tsunoda battling for the final seat.

As it stands, Tsunoda has the backing of Laurent Mekies, which may have given him a slight edge over Lawson. But Red Bull won’t make a decision until the season has concluded.

They have control over all of the drivers concerned, which raises the stakes. Tsunoda and Lawson are both likely to miss out on the only other realistic vacancy (at Alpine) due to Red Bull’s timeline.

McLaren junior Alex Dunne has also been linked with Alpine, so it’s feasible that Lindblad isn’t the only driver who graduates from the feeder series.
