Ferrari have put a lot of effort into improving their 2025 F1 car recently in a bid to catch the McLaren drivers at the front of the pack.
They’re the only team in the top four of the constructors’ championship yet to win a Grand Prix this season, and they haven’t particularly been close either.
The highs of Lewis Hamilton’s surprise sprint victory at the Chinese Grand Prix didn’t last long, as he and teammate Charles Leclerc were disqualified from the main race on Sunday.
And ever since, Ferrari have been competing for anywhere between third and sixth at most races. They just don’t have enough to challenge for victory.
Hamilton lacks confidence in one crucial area of Ferrari’s car and cannot completely trust the SF25 in high-speed corners, much like they just encountered at the British Grand Prix.
After struggling all season and failing to register a podium in 12 events, Hamilton told Ferrari what is ‘pretty bad’ and said that he missed opportunities in Silverstone for a better result.

Ferrari to bring rear suspension upgrade that would have put Lewis Hamilton ahead of McLaren
Hamilton will love what Leclerc said about him at the previous race, with the Monegasque driver admitting that the Briton was the Scuderia’s only positive.
In the second half of the season, the Italian manufacturer is ready to make a big push to keep hold of second place in the constructors’ standings.
Ferrari have found a ‘solution’ to Hamilton’s problems and are ready to bring some important upgrades to their car.
The Italian edition of Motorsport.com reports that a new rear suspension coming to their car at the Belgian Grand Prix will bring around a tenth of a second in added performance.
Looking at the British Grand Prix, exactly one tenth would have been enough for Hamilton to match Oscar Piastri’s time in qualifying, who was second on the grid.
It means he would’ve been ahead of both McLaren drivers, which could have made a dramatic difference to his race.
Lewis Hamilton attempted something ‘impossible’ at the British Grand Prix
Hamilton pushed really hard for his home crowd in qualifying on Saturday, and ended up costing himself in Q3.
In the last sector, he attempted to take a wider line into Vale corner and touched the grass, losing the tenth or so that he could have really utilised.
It may not have been enough for pole position, but it would have sent the crowd into raptures being alongside Max Verstappen on the front row.
According to Martin Brundle, Hamilton tried to do something ‘impossible’ and that caused him to go over the edge of the limit.
