Formula 1 fans might be about to see a lot more of Daniel Ricciardo heading into the 2026 season.

Daniel Ricciardo drove his final race in F1 at the 2024 Singapore Grand Prix before he was replaced by Liam Lawson.

Cadillac ruled out a move for Ricciardo, but the Australian is now working alongside Red Bull’s new engine partner, Ford.

The Australian always had a great relationship with Max Verstappen when they were teammates at Red Bull, and he’s gone on to achieve remarkable things since their partnership came to an end in 2019.

In 2026, Arvid Lindblad will score ??? points…

Arvid Lindblad is on the other side of the experience spectrum as he prepares to become the only rookie on the F1 grid with Racing Bulls.

Ahead of the launch of Red Bull and Racing Bulls’ new 2026 cars, Lindblad and Verstappen were racing against each other in a variety of cars.

Ricciardo couldn’t help but give some cheeky advice to the British teenager on how to beat his old teammate.

Daniel Ricciardo tells Arvid Lindblad he needs a ‘really big’ ego to outrace Max Verstappen

Verstappen and Lindblad were taking part in a YouTube video on Red Bull’s channel where they drove different Ford cars from the last 100 years.

Ricciardo is a Ford ambassador, and his Enchante collection has announced a new collaboration with the American motor company.

He appeared as a guest as Lindblad prepared to take part in a time trial against Verstappen, where in the previous rounds, the Dutchman had gained the advantage.

As Lindblad prepared to race a 2025 Ford Mustang GT3, Ricciardo said: “You’ll love this.

“As a race car driver, we’re not good at using clutches. At least, a lot of us are coming from Formula cars, so this is a relief for Arvid right now.”

Verstappen was in an Australian V8 supercar, and when Ricciardo was asked how Lindblad should handle trying to race the four-time world champion, he joked: “I mean, you’re going up against Max.

“So, you need an ego that’s really big, and all of the confidence that you need.”

Lindblad set a time three seconds quicker than Verstappen in the end, and Ricciardo said: “It’s hard as a race car driver to not drive fast. You want to try to feel the limit.

“And also, the guy you’re trying to beat is Max, then that’s like, well, it’s Max.”

The Daniel Ricciardo advice Isack Hadjar must listen to at Red Bull this year

Unless something has gone horribly wrong with Red Bull’s 2026 car, it’s unlikely that Lindblad will be going wheel-to-wheel with Verstappen very often this year.

Lawson beat Verstappen at last year’s Hungarian Grand Prix, and Isack Hadjar was promoted above him after his penalty in Spain.

Aside from that, Verstappen finished ahead of the Racing Bulls drivers every time he took the chequered flag.

Hadjar has the unenviable job of trying to race alongside Verstappen this year.

Ricciardo has previously offered advice about being Verstappen’s teammate that Hadjar simply has to listen to.

The Australian could be considered Verstappen’s most successful teammate, although the early stages of Sergio Perez’s time with Red Bull were also rather impressive.

He knows better than most what it takes to try and beat the 28-year-old, and Lindblad will know that any advice he can glean from Ricciardo before his F1 debut will be extremely valuable.
