A furious Charles Leclerc did not mince his words after crashing out of the Monaco Grand Prix due to issues with his Ferrari.

After Hamilton outqualified Leclerc in Monaco, there was a concern that the seven-time world champion had caught up with the Ferrari driver after a year of struggles.

Things only got worse this evening, as Leclerc crashed out of the Monaco Grand Prix just as he looked set for a possible P2 finish.

Charles Leclerc ends his Monaco GP in the wall! 💥 But was it driver error, or a track issue?

The FIA red-flagged the race soon after in order to investigate the final turn of the track.

This crash also helped Lewis Hamilton earn a podium finish after a chaotic restart, thus outperforming Leclerc for yet another race this season.

And during the red flag hiatus, a furious Charles Leclerc did not hold back on his team, going off on the brake issue that caused his crash, and suggesting he would replicate Hamilton’s recent approach.

Charles Leclerc goes on furious rant aimed at Ferrari after Monaco GP crash

Speaking during the Sky Sports broadcast during the red flag stoppage, Charles Leclerc did not hold back at all, despite the blame for his crash being attributed to the issues with the track.

Leclerc admitted that he was tired of Ferrari still not addressing the issues he was having with the brakes and would try to emulate Lewis Hamilton’s approach to his car going forward.

“I think I’ve always been very honest, and no matter how many mistakes I do, I would hate to look at myself in the mirror and see myself finding excuses when I do a mistake. So that’s why I’m always bluntly honest whenever I’m in front of cameras.

“But today I’m not going to take any of it. I touch the brakes, and there’s just something with those brakes — on the front brakes, it just brakes a lot more than what I thought, and in the rear brakes, it had no deceleration at all. It’s like I had no rear brakes at all.

“And yeah, that’s what I’m dealing with since two races now. We’ve had some differences of brakes in between cars, but I don’t think it’s been a disadvantage for me at all.

“But here and in Montreal, with cold tyre temperatures, the inconsistency — and then the tyres being a lot more sensitive because you’re on the limit of those tyres — has just been an absolute nightmare.

“And I’m weighing my words. I mean, I don’t have many words. Today I look like an idiot. And when you look like an idiot for a mistake of yours, it’s fine. But it’s borderline dangerous.

“We don’t have the solution. I will go into Lewis’ direction from the next race onwards, and that will solve the brake issues I deal with. Maybe Lewis’ configuration has other issues, but yeah, I just need consistency at that point.”

Lewis Hamilton’s changes at Ferrari could give Charles Leclerc the blueprint to improve

This isn’t the first time Leclerc has hinted at mimicking Hamilton’s approach, especially with the Briton’s recent improvement since the Canadian Grand Prix.

Hamilton did what Leclerc never considered with Ferrari – taking matters into his own hands and adjusting his own approach to ensure that he gets the most out of his car.

Now, as Leclerc has been dealt a big blow by Hamilton, the Monegasque driver must see how Hamilton changed his approach and see what he can do to turn his fortunes around.

Hopefully, Leclerc can manage to get some answers as to why he has struggled so much with his brakes, and try to catch up to Lewis Hamilton.
