Toyota, the world’s largest car manufacturer, first entered the pinnacle of motorsport as a works Formula 1 team and engine manufacturer in 2002. But Toyota withdrew from F1 after the 2009 season without winning a single Grand Prix after reporting billions in losses amid the economic depression.
It took 15 years for Toyota to return to Formula 1 when the brand agreed to a technical partnership with Haas F1 Team in October 2024 to provide technical and commercial expertise, knowledge and resources.
