Binotto initially joined Audi in July 2024 as the chief operating and chief technical officer of Sauber plus the German automotive giant’s Formula 1 project to replace Sauber CEO Andreas Seidl and advisor to its board, Oliver Hoffmann.
Binotto had previously acted as Ferrari’s Formula 1 team principal between January 2019 and December 2022, having worked his way up through the Scuderia’s engine and technical departments after initially starting his F1 career by moving to Maranello in 1995.
