Yuki Tsunoda’s camp are considering multiple options for his career in 2027, with a seat in IndyCar being among them.
After losing his seat at Red Bull at the end of 2025, the Japanese driver has remained with the Milton Keynes outfit as a reserve driver in 2026.
He has expressed a desire to return to a full-time F1 seat, and Red Bull will not stand in his way of getting it. But Tsunoda and his camp are keeping their options open for 2027 as they look at several series.

Yuki Tsunoda’s camp are eyeing a seat in IndyCar as F1 return looks unlikely
Tsunoda has been in talks with Haas over a potential seat with the team. Esteban Ocon is likely to lose his seat in 2027, opening the door for the Japanese driver to land a drive.
It was said that Tsunoda would be prepared to leave Honda to join Haas, with the American outfit being backed by their rivals, Toyota.

However, Tsunoda is not the only option they are considering, with Rafael Camara, Jack Doohan and Ryo Hirakawa also being in the picture. McLaren junior Leonardo Fornaroli is also a target for Haas, and according to SoyMotor, he is now the favourite.
Tsunoda is falling down the pecking order, with him now being described as not a ‘priority option’. His camp are beginning to turn their attention to other series.
It is understood that they are looking at a potential seat in IndyCar for 2027. Tsunoda has had experience with the American open-wheel series, having driven a Honda machine with IndyCar legend Scott Dixon in 2025.

Whether Tsunoda can land a seat in F1 next season is to be seen. It is clear that he is up against some strong talent to get the Haas seat, and his options beyond that are pretty slim.
