Red Bull Racing driver Sergio Perez crossed the finish line four positions and forty seconds behind teammate Max Verstappen.
For the 14th race weekend in a row, Sergio Perez failed to finish on the podium in the Grand Prix during the United States Grand Prix.
Perez last finished on the podium at the Sprint Race in Miami but before then his most recent Grand Prix top-three finish was in China.
In contrast to Perez’s difficulties, Max Verstappen has won three races since the previous race in America and extended his lead over Lando Norris in the Drivers’ Championship.
However, the Mexican’s difficulties have taken their toll on Red Bull.

Christian Horner’s team are no longer top of the Constructors’ Championship with McLaren 40 points clear and Ferrari now just eight points behind them.
Although Red Bull’s car has become more and more difficult to drive, Verstappen’s dominance over the rest of the field highlights that if they can’t win the championship, it’s going to be down to Perez.

Horner took to Instagram after the race to sum up the performance of his team.
However, Sergio Perez’s fans were happy with what he said, especially as Perez arrived in Austin with a car that didn’t have the same updates as Verstappen’s.
The Mexican had a heavier floor and while that might have been the case, others are suggesting that Perez’s time at Red Bull may be running out.
Red Bull and Sergio Perez fans disagree after Christian Horner comments
Reflecting on the race, Horner said: “Overall, the Team has done a great job and we’ve made a good step forward this #USGP weekend.
“A sprint race victory, the pace for a potential pole position and in the end a podium finish that saw Max build on his lead in the fight for the Drivers’ Championship.
“Still plenty to take and learn from this weekend. We lost a bit of pace from the sprint race which we’ll need to look into, but there’s plenty of positives to take into next weekend and the Mexico GP.”

The comments underneath Horner’s post didn’t exactly agree with his outlook on the race.
One fan said: “@christianhorner be honest already tell us Checo will not have updates because we will focus on Max’s championship. It’s good for us Checo lovers to go out and say it… Don’t let all the hate of Marko and the English press drop alone. We support Max without fussing,” while another fan added: “Start working @christianhorner no more talking and more work to do equally for both drivers.”

Another Red Bull fan joked, “Bring a good tractor for my Checo,” however, as pressure grows on Perez with two RB drivers trying to take his driver, another said: “@christianhorner Czech is a much better pilot than Tsunoda and Liam.”
Another Perez fan wanted to make it clear they weren’t happy with Horner’s treatment of the 34-year-old and said: “You have two drivers COME ON!! #Birdout,” while a final fan suggested an alternative driver to Perez by simply saying: “Franco is free in 2025.”
Christian Horner full of praise for Sergio Perez alternative during the United States Grand Prix
Perez faces immediate pressure from Yuki Tsunoda and Liam Lawson before the end of the season.
Helmut Marko has suggested Tsunoda as a candidate to replace Perez for 2025 after four seasons of patiently biding his time in Red Bull’s sister team.
However, he was beaten by Lawson in Austin, who nailed his one-stop strategy to double his career points tally.
Horner was very impressed with Lawson after his first outing for RB since replacing Daniel Ricciardo.
It will take some of the pressure off the Kiwi after being at the centre of the world’s attention after taking the seat of one of the sport’s most popular drivers.
