Ralf Schumacher says Red Bull deserve ‘credit’ for improving Max Verstappen’s car

Ralf Schumacher spoke on the latest episode of Backstage Boxengasse about Max Verstappen’s strong performance at the Miami Grand Prix.

He noted that Verstappen brought his signature driving style back, risks and all. But he also give a lot of credit to Red Bull for the work they’ve done to improve the car.

“Max Verstappen is back. All these things with the battery that were changed have led to the cars being able to enter corners much faster, brake late, and that’s due to his driving style.

“What you also have to give Red Bull credit for is that they have now made a drivable car for him. He had so many mistakes at the beginning because his car was just being stubborn. So all the upgrades seem to have worked there too…”

Verstappen may have finished P5 and missed out on a podium, but compared to his earlier performances this season, it was a marked improvement.

Max Verstappen must convert this momentum into sustained comeback effort

After a treacherous start to the season, Max Verstappen finally found his racing eagerness that appeared to be missing for the first three races.

Those close to the Red Bull have said Verstappen has his mojo back, and that was apparent during the Miami Grand Prix.

This is a strong start from the four-time world champion. But it cannot end here. In the next few races, Verstappen has to continue this strong start with a string of good performances.

Red Bull made strides during the break in the development of their car. It’s time Verstappen capitalises on the work of the team and pushes to get the most out of this season.
