Juan Pablo Montoya called on his own experience as a mercurial driver, and why he expects both Kimi Antonelli and Max Verstappen to collide.
Verstappen’s driving at the Miami Grand Prix earned a lot of criticism, as the four-time world champion was at his aggressive best trying to make his way up the grid.
Lando Norris called out Verstappen for the way he handled his battle with Oscar Piastri. And that wasn’t the end, as even Carlos Sainz criticised Verstappen’s aggression.
A five-second penalty for Max Verstappen, but he keeps P5!
The right decision?
For all the talk of his aggressive driving, Verstappen complained about other drivers frequently during the race, which didn’t go down well.
But Max Verstappen’s renewed aggression has Juan Pablo Montoya believing he is on a literal collision course with F1’s latest maverick, Kimi Antonelli.

Juan Pablo Montoya expects Kimi Antonelli and Max Verstappen to crash ‘sooner or later’
Speaking on the Chequered Flag podcast, former F1 driver Juan Pablo Montoya spoke about Max Verstappen’s performance at the Miami Grand Prix.
He believes that Verstappen and Kimi Antonelli are bound to collide with each other based on the Dutch driver’s eagerness to get back to winning ways and Antonelli’s immense success this year.
“I think Kimi and Max will have a coming together this year, sooner or later. I had a reputation that I was completely crazy, but I tell people that I wasn’t that crazy.
“Every time I drove in, people knew I wasn’t going to give you an inch, so you either get out of the way, or we’re going to crash, and I’m okay crashing.”
Verstappen is known for being one of the most aggressive drivers on the track, so for him to go after Antonelli if given the chance while chasing a win is quite likely.

Max Verstappen will have to wait before competing with Kimi Antonelli
This weekend was a return to form for Red Bull and Verstappen, who looked far more competitive with the top teams than they had in previous races this season.
But that doesn’t mean that he is ready to compete with the top drivers this season. Red Bull still have to make some improvements to keep up with their rivals.
Max Verstappen’s genius at Miami was on full display. But he still doesn’t have the car to compete for race wins or even podiums, for that matter.
So any chance at competing for race wins this season will have to wait until Red Bull are able to close the gap between themselves and their rivals.
