Christian Horner is looking back for a path to Formula 1, and there’s one team that could use his services more than any other.

With Horner making his return to the F1 paddock at Silverstone last week, there was a lot of talk of him possibly taking on a role with another team in the near future.

Recently, BYD threw Horner’s plans for an F1 debut in the trash when they announced they had no plans to start a project in the sport any time soon.

Christian Horner didn’t rest on his laurels during his time away, as he began working on his next venture in Formula 1.

And while some teams have shut the door on him, there is one side that actually needs him to help them turn things around.

Christian Horner is the only one who can keep Carlos Sainz at Williams

According to Autosport Web, Christian Horner has just two realistic options remaining for a return to Formula 1, with only Alpine and Williams being his only landing spots.

While Horner’s attempts to buy equity in Alpine have been reported on extensively, as that was his first option to return to Formula 1.

But in reality, it is Williams who need him far more. Compared to Alpine, Williams have underdelivered on expectations this season.

Carlos Sainz has grown tired of Williams’ issues, and his frustrations with the team have led him to consider his options outside of the team.

Bringing in Horner, someone with a proven track record and someone with a history of dealing with Carlos Sainz during the latter’s time at Toro Rosso (now Racing Bulls), could help them hold on to the driver and keep him happy.

Christian Horner can give Williams the stability they need going forward

For Williams, keeping a hold of Carlos Sainz is only part of the reason they should consider bringing Christian Horner to the team.

This year, James Vowles has seemingly had no answer for the issues Williams have faced this year, doing his best to address their lack of speed with no results to show for it.

While both Sainz and Alex Albon have managed to earn points for the team this season, those results have come off the back of other top teams making huge mistakes.

And with Sainz’s father putting pressure on him to leave Williams, a big move like bringing in Horner will give him the reassurance to stay and give the team another chance.

Williams will also be bringing in a man who can turn around a situation like the one they are facing in the months and years to come.
