Oliver Bearman is hoping to secure a full-time seat with Ferrari but has not heard anything regarding a future in red.

In 2024, Oliver Bearman made his debut in Formula 1 as he replaced Carlos Sainz at Ferrari for the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix.

In his first Formula 1 appearance, Bearman was able to score points for Ferrari as he finished in seventh place, ahead of fellow British drivers Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton.

Bearman was then signed by Haas as a full-time driver for the 2025 Formula 1 season, in which he scored 41 points and ended the year in 13th place in the standings.

Oliver Bearman’s ‘main motivation in life’ is to sign with Ferrari

In an interview with the Express, Bearman discussed how he wants to get back in a Ferrari to be able to prove what he is capable of.

However, heading into his second season with Haas for the 2026 Formula 1 season, Bearman has admitted that he has not been notified about a potential position with Ferrari.

The 20-year-old is not letting any speculation of signing for Ferrari distract him from the job at hand, as he believes he can do ‘some pretty special things’ this season.

Bearman said, “I’ve been told nothing. That’s not my job. I’m not the one who’s negotiating what my future looks like.

“My target is to continue what I’m doing, proving what I’m capable of behind the wheel and, in my view, the rest will sort itself out.

“It’s flattering to have the connotations, but my job remains to try to maximise what we can achieve with this team. Next year, we have a new regulation set and an opportunity to do some pretty special things.

“I was very lucky to have made my debut with Ferrari. That was one of the most special moments in my life. So, of course, my main motivation in life is to get back into a red car and prove what I’m capable of.”

Oliver Bearman is used to ‘big regulation changes’

The main talking point heading into the 2026 Formula 1 season is the major regulation changes that have taken place in the sport.

Heading into his second season as a Formula 1 driver, Bearman believes he will benefit from his experience of dealing with major regulation changes during his junior career.

During his career, Bearman has only dealt with the same category or regulations during his two seasons in the Formula 2 championship in 2023 and 2024.

Bearman ended the final day of the two-week Bahrain test in sixth place on the timesheets after completing 88 laps of the Bahrain International Circuit on the sixth day of testing.
