Max Verstappen’s Nurburgring 24 Hours teammate, Daniel Juncadella, has admitted that winning is more a ‘dream’ than a ‘goal’.

This weekend, there is no Formula 1 action, and Verstappen has made his much-anticipated debut at the Nurburgring 24 Hours. The Dutchman is no stranger to the place, having previously taken part in different events at the track.

For the Nurburgring 24 Hours, Verstappen has teamed up with Juncadella, Jules Gounon and Lucas Auer, and they will be driving a Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo.

On Thursday, Verstappen went behind the wheel around the Nurburgring in the dark for the first time as his team ended the day in third place.

There is no doubt that Verstappen is already attracting a lot of attention, and he will be gunning for victory this weekend.

Daniel Juncadella admits winning is more a ‘dream’ than a ‘goal’

Speaking ahead of the weekend to Spanish news outlet SoyMotor, Verstappen’s teammate, Juncadella, admitted that winning is more a ‘dream’ than a ‘goal’.

The Spaniard went on to reveal that they have a ‘competitive’ car and that Verstappen will not settle for anything less than a victory.

Juncadella said: “Every weekend I have a chance to win… I’ll never settle for less. But victory isn’t a goal, it’s more of a dream.

“Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to win this race yet. It’s one of my favourites, and this year there are different elements.

“There’s much more attention; we have a truly competitive car… It’s brewing, it’s what’s expected of us. Max isn’t here to finish second, that much is clear.”
