Max Verstappen warned of the ‘terrifying’ fog problem he could face at Nurburgring 24 Hours
Ahead of the race, Verstappen has been warned of the ‘terrifying’ fog problem he could face at the Nurburgring 24 Hours by Naomi Schiff, who took part in the event back in 2018, finishing second in class and 39th overall.
Speaking on the latest episode of the Up to Speed podcast, Schiff stated that she was thankful her race was red-flagged after the fog made it almost impossible to see what’s ahead.
Schiff said: “The one thing I did not enjoy at all is the fog, cause at one point, because the lap is so long, the conditions are completely different around the circuit.
“So, the back end of the lap, it was like you couldn’t see a thing, it was like driving into a white wall, and that was, honestly, terrifying.
“Then I went around for another lap, which takes about nine and a half minutes. The fog had completely moved, so you didn’t know what to expect. But then they red-flagged it, thank goodness.
“You couldn’t see the white lines on the track, you couldn’t see the next car in front of you, you could barely make out where you were on track.”

Daniel Juncadella says Max Verstappen is ‘sometimes too much’
After enjoying a period of dominance in F1, it is no surprise that Verstappen is looking to bring his attention to detail into his GT3 racing.
Speaking recently to Motorsport, Verstappen’s teammate Juncadella joked that the Dutchman’s search for perfection could be ‘too much’.
Juncadella said: “He has such a high technical approach. Things that are working in Formula 1 – he tries to bring that to GT3 racing.
“Sometimes it’s a bit too much. I think this is over-engineering, and a car like this is quite simple in comparison.
“So I tell him: ‘Max, it’s GT racing, just don’t go too much into detail.’ But it’s good to have a different point of view. With a guy like this, it is not only his skills, but also his brain.”
