Max Verstappen has reportedly been spotted testing Red Bull’s own version of Ferrari’s famous Macarena rear wing.
During pre-season testing in Bahrain, Ferrari introduced an innovative rear wing design, which was first spotted on Lewis Hamilton’s car.
The rear wing was seen flipping into an upside-down position when the SF-26 entered straight-line mode.
It has been suggested that the wing provides extra downforce in the corners and can minimise drag on the straight.
Since then, it has been dubbed the Macarena wing, and it was spotted during FP1 at the Chinese Grand Prix, but was then replaced for the remainder of the weekend.
This week, Ferrari carried out more tests on the Macarena wing in Monza, with the hope of using it in the upcoming races.

Max Verstappen spotted testing Red Bull’s own version of Ferrari’s Macarena wing
It appears that Red Bull have designed their own version of the Macarena rear wing, with Verstappen spotted testing it at Silverstone.
According to RacingNews365, Red Bull were seen testing the Macarena wing, but their version has a key difference from Ferrari’s.
It has been suggested that the main difference between Red Bull’s and Ferrari’s wings lies in their activation.
On the Red Bull, a central pillar controls a large part of the wing, but the Ferrari’s activation mechanism is said to be incorporated into the endplates.
Although we have seen Ferrari bring the Macarena wing to a race weekend, it is currently unknown whether Red Bull will introduce their own version in the upcoming Grands Prix.

Lewis Hamilton said Ferrari ‘rushed’ to get the Macarena wing ready
During the Chinese Grand Prix weekend, Hamilton stated Ferrari had ‘rushed’ to get the wing ready.
The 41-year-old went on to question the team’s decision to remove the Macarena wing for the remainder of the race weekend.
He said: “I don’t really know why we went back on it. We rushed it to get it here, and it was not supposed to be on the car until like race four or five or something like that.
“So [the team] did a great job to rush it here, and we only had two of them, but maybe it was a bit premature. So we took it off the car, it was still great, and we’ll work to try and bring it back when it is ready.”
