Max Verstappen and Isack Hadjar were heard complaining about the same issue with the Red Bull RB22 during practice at the Austrian Grand Prix.

On Friday, the 2026 Formula 1 season continued with the Austrian Grand Prix, with the first two practice sessions taking place around the Red Bull Ring.

Mercedes star and world championship leader Kimi Antonelli went fastest in FP1 and was followed by George Russell and reigning world champion Lando Norris.

In FP2, Antonelli again topped the timesheet, with McLaren duo Oscar Piastri and Norris making up the top three.

Where would Max Verstappen and Lando Norris rank among McLaren’s greatest line-ups?

Max Verstappen and Isack Hadjar suffer same problem at Turn 3 during FP2

During FP2, Verstappen and Hadjar were far from happy with their Red Bull as they encountered issues at the same point of the Red Bull Ring, with Turn 3 proving to be a problem.

Both drivers appeared to be frustrated with how the car behaved going into the corner, and were quick to make their feelings clear.

Taking to his team radio, Hadjar was heard saying: “You see? This is the story of Turn 3 today. Like, what was that again?”

Hadjar’s point was backed up by Verstappen, who blasted: “Look what happened there on the apex of Turn 3 with the engine? That’s what happens on the push lap as well. The drop in RPM, it’s clear!”

Later in the session, Hadjar complained about the lack of power. The Frenchman said: “I need the car to give me power, man! Because otherwise I’m going to get overtaken and then we’re in the s—.”

With both Red Bull drivers clearly unhappy with the RB22, team boss Laurent Mekies was asked about the Turn 3 issue while speaking to Sky Sports F1 lead commentator David Croft.

Mekies admitted that they have been ‘wrestling’ with the driveability of the car at Turn 3, but insisted that work will be done overnight in order to solve the problem ahead of FP3 and qualifying on Saturday.

He said: “It’s fair to say we are wrestling a bit in terms of driveability in and out of Turn 3. It’s been a bit of a theme but it’s part of the job we do on Friday to get that right for qualifying.

“We think there is more to come. The five-and-a-half-tenths would not be a great result if that gap stayed like that tomorrow.

“If we just look at ourselves, there’s still quite a bit of work we need to do to make sure Max and Isack can do what they can do with it, so hopefully we have a bit of lap time to come.”

Eventually, Verstappen clocked the fourth fastest time in FP2, while Hadjar’s best effort was only good enough for seventh.
