Lando Norris is the favourite to win the 2025 Formula 1 title in a three-horse race with just three races to go this season.
The Briton has a 24-point lead over teammate Oscar Piastri in the drivers’ championship, and he has all the momentum.
He dominated the last weekend in Brazil, as McLaren became more certain that one of their drivers would be hoisting the big trophy at the end of the year.
But Norris is aware that the deal hasn’t been secured just yet, and that the upcoming Las Vegas Grand Prix could be a problem, too.
Even though he has improved lately, Norris may struggle with ‘internal pressure’, according to James Hinchcliffe.
However, Norris is starting to get ‘fed up’ with some external factors, such as excessive booing from crowds when he wins particular races.

Jenson Button has spotted a ‘really impressive’ change in Lando Norris’ confidence that will win the title
Norris rubbished suggestions that he has nothing to lose a few weeks ago, with some indicating that because he has recovered from a near-season-long deficit, his situation should be less pressured.
But that really isn’t the case. Right now, there’s a chance that he could have a maiden Formula 1 title wrapped up in just under two weeks.
It has all been helped by a big change in form since the summer break, and a return of the more confident version of Norris. It’s something that will end up winning him the title.
Jenson Button has pointed out how he has been ‘really impressive’ recently, and believes that it’s ‘great to see’ him in good form.
“Since the summer break, it has been amazing to watch,” he said. “I’m not going to say transformation, because he has always had the speed, but I think the confidence is definitely higher with Lando, and it’s great to see.
“This is such a tough time for a racing driver, emotionally. What you’re going through right now, you’re fighting for a world championship since you were sort of five years old. This was always the dream.
“Suddenly, you can grab it in your hands, but it’s whether you can carry that to the finish line. I love that feeling, but it’s also so tough mentally. I’m really impressed by how Lando has handled that pressure. He has just been on a roll, it’s really impressive to see.”

How has there been such a big swing in the 2025 F1 title fight?
It has been five races without an appearance from Piastri on the podium, while Norris has featured on it four times, including two victories.
At a critical point in the season, that’s a huge swing and means that without something drastic changing soon, the fate of the title race may already be set.
Outscoring his teammate by just two points at the next two races will mean that it’s all over already, heading to Abu Dhabi.
In a way, it would be an anti-climactic end to the campaign, but probably fair, given how Norris has performed throughout the season.
