Red Bull are currently preparing to transition into a new era of Formula 1, as are their Formula 1 rivals, but they might be slightly busier than most of them.
For the first time in their history, they’ll be bringing their own power units from the start of the 2026 F1 regulations.
It’s something they have spent the last few years gearing up for, with the Red Bull Powertrains movement having been set up a long time ago.
With Helmut Marko now out of the picture, one of the most experienced figureheads has left the building, and it doesn’t appear that they’re going to replace him.
Change our minds: Red Bull will miss Helmut Marko more than Christian Horner next season
Let us know why in the comments below!
Since leaving, Marko has accused Christian Horner of ‘dirty tricks’ and has made his displeasure at his ex-colleague very clear, which is an unusual development.
Marko was also annoyed at his final talk with Max Verstappen, since it had to happen over the phone, rather than in person, which is what their friendship deserved at least.

Helmut Marko’s latest rant shows why his Red Bull exit will be positive for 2026
Red Bull might have ‘poisoned’ Verstappen’s title charge, after announcing their 2026 line-up before the last race of the season.
It was a distraction that the team spent so long trying to avoid before unleashing at one of the worst moments possible.
Since then, F1 fans have been disappointed with Marko after he launched an attack of words on ex-colleague Horner.
Will Max Verstappen beat this record before he leaves Red Bull?
If anything, all it has done is prove that the team made the right call to move on from both of them and the distractions they have brought to the Red Bull team over the last two years.
Now, they can fully focus on racing, which is going to be very important if they want to keep Verstappen beyond the end of 2026.
Laurent Mekies has done an excellent job of changing the environment within the team, and it’s something which should only make them stronger.

Why won’t Red Bull look to replace Helmut Marko in 2026?
Red Bull won’t replace Marko with Sebastian Vettel because the four-time champion lacks the sort of support he had while driving.
An advisory role could interest him, but it just doesn’t appear that Red Bull are that bothered about filling that role again.
The team has morphed into a different beast now, and are clearly confident in their ability to manage their junior programme, despite a big loss in experience.
If the likes of Isack Hadjar or Arvid Lindblad struggle over the next 12 months, it’ll be interesting to see whether Marko returns, but replacing him doesn’t seem an option for now.
