Red Bull Racing are facing another difficult driver decision and Guenther Steiner has had his say on a change that he would make if he was team principal.
Guenther Steiner worked for Red Bull’s predecessors Jaguar before leading his own team on the grid in Haas for nearly a decade.
During that time, Steiner only worked with a handful of drivers, although Esteban Gutierrez wasn’t happy with Steiner after he was dropped after a single season.
Steiner can take some credit for putting together the combination of Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen who are thriving under Ayao Komatsu in a newly updated car this season.
Red Bull are in a much more difficult position with their driver as only one is living up to expectations.

Although Max Verstappen hasn’t won any of the last ten races, he’s still the clear favourite to win the Drivers’ Championship ahead of Lando Norris with four race weekends remaining.
Sergio Perez is in a much more precarious position with the deficit to his teammate standing at more than 200 points.
Speaking on The Red Flags Podcast, Steiner shared what he would do now if he was Red Bull’s team principal.
After nearly four full seasons in Formula 1, Steiner believes now is the time for Red Bull to call upon Yuki Tsunoda.
Guenther Steiner would swap Sergio Perez with Yuki Tsunoda at Red Bull
Steiner was asked what he would do right now if he were the team principal of Red Bull and said: “I would say, I would swap Checo for Yuki.
“I would say [you’ve got] nothing to lose, and that also gives Checo a chance.
“You need to be also fair to him to drive still in an F1 car but under less pressure and maybe find his way again.

“Take the pressure away from him, put Yuki under pressure. It keeps it interesting for us!
“To be honest, Yuki cannot do a lot worse than Checo is doing at the moment.”
Yuki Tsunoda popular during the Mexico City Grand Prix despite first corner crash
Tsunoda has been RB’s strongest driver this season, seeing off the challenge of eight-time race winner Daniel Ricciardo who has since been replaced by Liam Lawson.
His performances have dropped off in recent times, although that coincides with RB losing their standing as the best midfield team on the grid, with Haas now in that position.
He struggled in Austin, getting frustrated that Lawson had managed to undercut him before spinning at turn one and ending any faint hopes of scoring points while his new teammate managed to add two to his tally on his return to the F1 grid.
Tsunoda then looked rapid all throughout practice in Mexico, but crashes in qualifying and leading up to the first corner ended another frustrating weekend for the 24-year-old.

Martin Brundle didn’t think Tsunoda was at fault for the crash, and the crowd in Mexico gave Tsunoda a very pleasant reception as he walked back to the paddock.
Helmut Marko believes Tsunoda is a candidate to replace Perez, however, he was less impressed with his display at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.
“He is still too unstable,” Marko said to Sky Sports Deutschland.
“Yuki also had a spin in Austin and now this crash in qualifying.
“We thought he was stabilised, but apparently he’s not. Now, when the pressure comes off [Liam] Lawson, it’s even more noticeable.”
Only time will tell to see if Red Bull heed Steiner’s suggestion and give Tsunoda his long-awaited promotion.
