There are a lot of world-class drivers on the Formula 1 grid, but Lewis Hamilton is heralded as one of the greatest of all time.

The seven-time World Champion has added to his tally of overall victories this season, reaching his 105th at the most recent Belgian Grand Prix.

Lewis Hamilton’s move to Ferrari in 2025 is being done with the expectation that he could challenge for an eighth title, having been denied it at the end of the 2021 season due to a Race Control mistake.

Former F1 driver Gerhard Berger named Hamilton as the ideal teammate in an interview with The Race.

Gerhard Berger names Lewis Hamilton as F1 teammate

Berger went up against eight drivers as teammates in his F1 career, which included greats Ayrton Senna and Nigel Mansell.

But the one driver he feels he would find the most useful is Hamilton, largely due to his fame outside of Formula 1.

Hamilton was named the seventh most marketable sportsperson in the world, according to SportsPro, which the businessman in Berger sees as an opportunity.

“I never care too much about teammates but it would great to have a year with Lewis because you could be sure that he pushes the price of everything up and you can just profit off of it!”

Gerhard Berger falls short of naming Lewis Hamilton the GOAT

Despite saying he would love to be teammates with Hamilton, when previously asked who he thinks is the greatest of all time, Berger claimed that it was Max Verstappen.

Berger believes Verstappen has a talent that neither Senna, Michael Schumacher or Hamilton have, which is the Dutchman’s overtaking talents.

Verstappen is continuing to break records in F1, his most impressive coming last year when he set the record for longest win streak at 10 Grands Prix and became the first driver to lead over 1,000 laps in one season.

The Dutchman is looking to add to his Drivers’ Championship tally with a fourth in the second half of 2024.
