Ferrari have reportedly made a decision on the Macarena rear wing ahead of the Miami Grand Prix following a testing day in Monza.
Back in February, during pre-season testing in Bahrain, Ferrari stunned the Formula 1 paddock by introducing a new rear wing design on Lewis Hamilton’s car.
At the time, it was observed that the rear wing on the SF-26 had fully rotated. Now dubbed the Macarena wing, it has been suggested that it could further reduce aerodynamic drag and give Ferrari an advantage on the straights.
The Macarena wing made an appearance during FP1 in China but was then replaced for the remainder of the weekend.

This week, during their Monza test, it was reported that Ferrari were testing a legality issue with the Macarena wing.
It has been claimed that Ferrari had to run further tests to ensure the rear wing complied with F1 regulations, which state that the open element on the wing must close within four-hundredths of a second.

Ferrari make decision on Macarena wing after Monza test
Following the Monza test, it has been claimed that Ferrari have made a decision on when they will bring the Macarena rear wing again.
As reported by Italian news outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, Ferrari are set to introduce the Macarena wing ‘in a structural way’ over the next few Grands Prix.
Meanwhile, Motorsport Italia stated that it is ‘not yet certain’ the Macarena wing will appear in Miami, but it is expected to give the team a ‘significant advantage’ at the Canadian Grand Prix, which will take place towards the end of May.

What did Lewis Hamilton say about the Macarena wing?
During the Chinese Grand Prix weekend, Hamilton stated Ferrari had ‘rushed’ to get the wing ready.
He said: “I don’t really know why we went back on it. We rushed it to get it here, and it was not supposed to be on the car until like race four or five or something like that.
“So [the team] did a great job to rush it here, and we only had two of them, but maybe it was a bit premature. So we took it off the car, it was still great, and we’ll work to try and bring it back when it is ready.”
