Ferrari fans grimace at one screenshot they’ve just seen from Charles Leclerc’s Imola onboard, ‘massive mess’

Ferrari fans will be desperate to see improvements from their team at their first home race of the 2025 season at Imola.

The Maranello outfit have arguably been the biggest disappointment of the year so far. Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton have been unable to live up to the incredible hype around them over the winter in the first six races.

While Hamilton has scored podiums in the Sprint races this year, winning in Shanghai, Ferrari have struggled for performance on Sunday. Leclerc grabbed the team’s only podium in Jeddah as they sit 152 points behind McLaren heading into the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.

Hamilton says Ferrari fans deserve success as he previewed the race at Imola this weekend. The 40-year-old was labelled a ‘legend’ as the Tifosi are sure to bring the noise and rally their team on throughout the Grand Prix.

The immense Ferrari support could see Kimi Antonelli get ‘booed’ at Imola. Despite being Italian, the Tifosi are known for jeering drivers who beat their team, but the weekend has not started well for home faithful.

FP1 was a solid outing for Hamilton, who was 96 thousandths of a second off of the pacesetter Oscar Piastri in fifth. The same could not be said for Leclerc, who was down in 12th and half a second down on the McLaren.

Ferrari have brought upgrades to the car at Imola, hoping to find some improvements after a disappointing start to the year. But Ted Kravitz expected more as he only noticed a revised floor on the SF-25.

Leclerc added another issue to the team’s woes in FP1 as he was complaining of ‘horrible’ helmet lift in the cockpit. Screenshots on X (formerly Twitter) pictured the Monegasque driver trying to push his helmet back down as he struggled with airflow, leaving Ferrari fans grimacing.

One fan said: “Very uncomfortable to drive like this, poor Leclerc,” while another echoed: “What a difficult situation.”

Many Ferrari fans vented their frustrations as more problems piled up for the team. One wrote: “Something you cannot make these issues up honestly.”

“Cmon it’s the basics.. that is hurting Ferrari,” said one user, while another wrote: “Omg Ferrari what next…” Finally, one Ferrari supporter lamented the situation the team find themselves in: “Least fit with current state of Ferrari. Massive mess!”

Charles Leclerc’s post about his Imola race helmet has not aged well with airflow issue in FP1

Ferrari are relying on the Spanish GP’s directive on front-wing flexibility to propel them up the order, but they also want to see some performance this weekend on home soil.

Leclerc will sport a special helmet for the Grand Prix, with the Italian flag’s colours displayed at the top with the message: ‘We keep pushing together as a team.’ One fan felt the post did not age well, given his struggle with helmet lift in FP1.

Leclerc told fans he would ‘give it all’ at Imola in what is a ‘special’ weekend for Ferrari. But Rob Smedley thinks Ferrari won’t win without upgrades; Kravitz’s disappointment with the updates suggest another difficult weekend is on the horizon.

Morale is low at Ferrari as they desperately search for solutions to their woes. Leclerc’s issues with airflow are the last thing they need at their home event.
