Lewis Hamilton is preparing for his first Formula 1 race in Italy as a Ferrari driver.
It’s a special feeling for any Formula 1 driver to represent Ferrari at either the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at Imola or the Italian Grand Prix at Monza.
Nico Rosberg got goosebumps watching Charles Leclerc win at Monza last season after defeating both McLaren drivers against all odds.
The support of the Tifosi is unlike almost any other group of fans on the Formula 1 calendar and Lewis Hamilton is about to experience that.
Unfortunately, it’s not been the start to the 2025 season that he would have hoped for.

Ferrari sit fourth in the constructors’ championship at this stage and need to quickly turn their fortunes around if they want to avoid writing off the campaign completely.
In the build-up to the first race in the upcoming triple header, Hamilton sent a message to Ferrari’s fans, which went down very well.

Lewis Hamilton tells Ferrari fans they ‘deserve’ success ahead of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix
In a message to fans on social media, Hamilton stated, “I’m getting to feel the love and the desire and the passion from every single person that Ferrari touches.
“It’s something I’ve never experienced before. Coming to Italy for the first time, as a Ferrari driver, I’m both nervous and also excited to be actually in Italy and being home with the team in their home country, I think is something that I am really, really looking forward to experiencing.
“Thank you for the welcome that you’ve given me to be in the family and in the team.
“I am incredibly honoured to be a part of it. I’m working very hard to make sure that we get the results that you deserve and the team deserves, and I won’t give up until I achieve that.”
Hamilton has previously won the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix but made his debut in Formula 1 the year after the San Marino Grand Prix fell off the calendar.
Since its return, Max Verstappen has been the dominant force at Imola, but Ferrari will hope they can cause an upset and beat the Dutchman and the two flying McLarens this weekend.

Another fan said, “Huge for @LewisHamilton. This might decide the trajectory of his @ScuderiaFerrari career. If can perform here then fans will spare him as well as @ScuderiaFerrari. But a difficult task with the car issues,” and this was followed up by a message that read, “P6 never looked so good.”
One fan replied, “What a shame, you couldn’t build a car worth celebrating this iconic moment.”
“Fourth best car, passed by Alex Albon. At least it was fun to imagine Ferrari winning again,” another fan declared, while Hamilton’s struggles were compared to several other legendary drivers, “Just like countless predecessors who switched to Ferrari, Vettel, Alonso and others have the same experience at Ferrari. It is difficult to achieve better results.”
Ferrari are working on fixing their car before the season ends, but they need to make sure as much of the work that they’re doing now can be transferred to next season when the regulations change.
Hamilton’s demeanour changed after the Miami Grand Prix and he’ll need to keep the positive approach up at Imola regardless of how well the team are performing.
