Ferrari are now eyeing a potential seat at Formula 1 team Haas for their young driver Ollie Bearman.

A report from French outlet AutoHebdo has been talking about the future line-ups of every F1 team.

Formula 1’s traditional ‘Silly Season’ hasn’t been particularly wild this year.

So far, 19 drivers have been confirmed ahead of next season with only one change confirmed for next year.

Daniel Ricciardo will start the season partnering with Yuki Tsunoda although he’s already replaced Nyck de Vries this year.

Williams are the last team to confirm who will be driving alongside Alex Albon, although Logan Sargeant is still the most likely driver to take the role.

Plenty of pundits have suggested they should look at Liam Lawson but time is running out for the Kiwi to prove he’s deserving of the seat.

Instead, teams and drivers are already looking to 2025 for opportunities.

The majority of the grid sees their contracts run out at the end of 2024 and with the next round of big rule changes being introduced in 2026, teams will want line-ups ready to hit the ground running for the resulting shake-up.

Ferrari have identified Ollie Bearman as a star for the future and think they potentially spot an opportunity at Haas.

The teenager is currently sixth in Formula 2 but could achieve a top-three finish if he nails the final weekend of racing in Abu Dhabi.

Ferrari eyeing Haas seat for Bearman

The report from AutoHebdo suggests that although Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hulkenberg are confirmed for next year, there is no guarantee either driver will be on the grid in 2025.

Both drivers have struggled at times this season and only one of them may be retained in two years.

Ferrari have links with Haas and may see this as an opportunity to get Bearman on the grid.

However, they state that he needs to perform in F2 to be offered this opportunity, meaning he’ll need to be challenging for the title, presumably with Prema.

The Italian’s team principal Rene Rosin has described Bearman as an ‘amazing’ driver and it would be a surprise if he wasn’t retained for next year.

It’s not an easy series to go and win and as Felipe Drugovich and potentially Theo Pourchaire have shown, winning F2 doesn’t guarantee you a place in F1.
