Haas have unveiled a special Godzilla-themed livery, in collaboration with Toho, for the upcoming Japanese Grand Prix, much to the delight of F1 fans who have reacted to the new paint job.
Oliver Bearman and Esteban Ocon unveiled Haas’ new look at a live event in Tokyo Midtown Hibiya, with team principal Ayao Komatsu also in attendance.
Who is going to win the 2026 F1 Japanese Grand Prix?
Let us know why in the comments!
While still keeping the base colourway of Haas’ original paint job, the new livery features artwork of Godzilla on the rear quarter of the car as well as some added texturing details around the team’s logo on the sidepods.
The special livery also coincides with the 50th anniversary of the Japanese Grand Prix as an F1 world championship event, which first ran in 1976. The top step of the podium was occupied by American driver Mario Andretti.

F1 fans react to Haas’ Godzilla-themed livery for the Japanese Grand Prix
After images from the event in Tokyo hit social media in the early hours of Tuesday morning, F1 fans from around the world were quick to offer their thoughts on Haas’ new look for the upcoming race weekend at Suzuka.
During the event, Haas announced a season-long collaboration with Toho, marking the first partnership with an entertainment company for the American constructor.
That means it could potentially be the first of many special liveries for Haas this year, and one X (formerly Twitter) user is excited about the prospect. They commented, “Glad someone is taking the liveries seriously. We need more of this.”
Coolest special livery collaboration ever? 🦖
What are your thoughts on Haas' special livery for the Japanese Grand Prix?
Another fan may have been converted into a fan of the Kannapolis-based F1 outfit, writing, “Are Haas cool now? Like they’re consistently competing for points. Sick liveries. Bearman is clearly pretty damn good. Am I a Haas fan?”
Two fans shared their complete satisfaction with the collaboration. One referenced the team’s special Sakura-themed livery from 2025, posting, “For the second year in a row, an absolute banger of a livery for Japan!”
Another shared a similar sentiment, commenting, “TGR Haas definitely cooked with the Godzilla collab livery!”
Max Verstappen’s comparison with a T- Rex during the latter stages of the title fight last year was also still fresh on the mind of some fans.
One fan wrote, “No more T-Max haunting Lando anymore, here comes Bearzilla,” while another referenced the Dutchman’s prowess at Suzuka with, “Godzilla at Suzuka? Finally, something that might actually challenge Max Verstappen.”

Max Verstappen has dominated the Japanese Grand Prix in recent years
Despite the final comment alluding to a competitive Verstappen at the Japanese Grand Prix, Red Bull’s performance deficit to the frontrunners is unlikely to allow him to thrive once again at the legendary Suzuka circuit.
The four-time world champion has won each edition of the Japanese Grand Prix for the last four years in a row, with his feat last year arguably being his most impressive drive at F1’s only figure-eight track on the calendar.
In fact, Verstappen made history last year by becoming the first F1 driver to win the Grand Prix four times in a row.
Michael Schumacher, Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton all came close in the past, but a three-peat was the best they could muster at the time.
