Racing Bulls are the only Formula 1 team yet to confirm either driver for the 2026 season.
Current Racing Bulls drivers, Isack Hadjar and Liam Lawson, face a nervous wait to discover their fate with just fives races of the 2025 F1 campaign to go.
Four seats remain open heading into the Mexico City Grand Prix, with Yuki Tsunoda and Franco Colapinto also yet to discover whether they will be retained heading into next year.
The Argentinian was linked with Red Bull last season, but now it looks like Alpine will stick with Colapinto in 2026, even if reserve driver Paul Aron is impressing behind the scenes.
| TEAM | DRIVER 1 | DRIVER 2 |
| Alpine | Pierre Gasly | Franco Colapinto |
| Aston Martin | Fernando Alonso | Lance Stroll |
| Audi | Gabriel Bortoleto | Nico Hulkenberg |
| Cadillac | Valtteri Bottas | Sergio Perez |
| Ferrari | Charles Leclerc | Lewis Hamilton |
| Haas | Esteban Ocon | Oliver Bearman |
| McLaren | Lando Norris | Oscar Piastri |
| Mercedes | George Russell | Kimi Antonelli |
| Racing Bulls | Liam Lawson | Arvid Lindblad |
| Red Bull Racing | Max Verstappen | Isack Hadjar |
| Williams | Alex Albon | Carlos Sainz |
Hadjar has had a brilliant rookie season in Formula 1 and became the 15th active driver to finish on the podium at the Dutch Grand Prix.
The list of drivers without a top-three finish includes Lawson and Tsunoda, alongside Oliver Bearman, Gabriel Bortoleto and the aforementioned Colapinto, but both drivers have had highs and lows this year.
Lawson’s chances of racing for Red Bull appear to be over after a disastrous two-race stint with the team at the start of the year.
Tsunoda was named as his replacement, but has equally struggled, and has scored fewer points than the New Zealander despite being in a theoretically faster car.

F1 fans think Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad are Racing Bulls most likely 2026 driver pairing
In a story run by F1 Oversteer, fans were asked to vote on which two drivers they believed would drive for Racing Bulls next year.
Helmut Marko ruled out Alex Dunne as an option following his McLaren exit, leaving four options on the table: Lawson, Hadjar, Tsunoda and Formula 2 star Arvid Lindblad.
More than half of the readers who answered suggested that a combination of Lawson and Lindblad was most likely heading into 2026.
The next most popular combination was Lawson and Hadjar, followed by the New Zealander and Tsunoda.
All three other possible combinations, Tsunoda and Lindblad, Hadjar and Lindblad, and Hadjar and Tsunoda – received less than 5% of the vote.
Red Bull’s promotional activities suggest Lawson is set to stay, but until he receives official confirmation, nothing is set in stone yet.

What Arvid Lindblad could learn from Liam Lawson’s Formula 1 experience?
Hadjar is expected to replace Tsunoda at Red Bull next year, leaving the Japanese driver in serious danger of missing out on a seat in 2026.
Fans will get to see how fast Lindblad really is compared to Tsunoda at the Mexico City Grand Prix, as the pair will be going head-to-head in FP1, with Max Verstappen giving up his car for the first practice session of the weekend.
Tsunoda has a lot more experience than Lawson in Formula 1, but that doesn’t necessarily make him a better teammate for Lindblad.

Lawson’s stop-start F1 career makes him an easier benchmark to compare Lindblad to, particularly as he’ll potentially be entering the sport as an 18-year-old with a similar level of success in Formula 2 as Andrea Kimi Antonelli.
Martin Brundle and Jenson Button want Lawson to remain at Racing Bulls for at least another year to give him a real chance to establish himself in Formula 1.
If Lindblad is promoted, he needs to be promised the same amount of time; otherwise, Red Bull will be expecting far too much from someone so young.
