Sauber has unveiled a special livery for the upcoming Las Vegas Grand Prix, the second time the race has been held in the US city.
The livery is supposed to “embody the energy, excitement, and intensity of the iconic city” according to Sauber, who are still looking to score their first points of the year.
The next three races will be their final opportunity to get points on the board for both drivers, and potentially both Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu’s last chance to score points in their F1 careers as Sauber goes with an all-new lineup for next season.
Brazilian driver Gabriele Bortoleto will partner with the experienced Nico Hulkenberg, in a move that is seen as part of Sauber’s future once they switch to Audi in 2026.
For their livery in Las Vegas, F1 fans are all saying the same thing after seeing it unveiled on social media ahead of the race weekend.
F1 Fans are hopeful that Sauber will score points with a ‘flaming’ livery tweak
Fans are all hopeful that the flames on the side of the Sauber will bring them extra horsepower in their quest to score points this season.
Speaking on their Instagram page, one fan wrote: “Flames on the car = +100 HP everybody knows that!” Another also made a similar remark: “Racing flames to make the car quicker I see.”
Speaking on social media platform X, fans were happy to see Sauber do something fun with the livery after some team backed out of doing special liveries this year.
“Hot Wheels!” wrote one fan, while another said: “okokok this is niccccce” in a remark about the style of the livery. Another fan also said that the livery reminded them of their karting paintscheme.
Sauber said the flames were not only a nod to Las Vegas’ energy but also its rich history from Elvis Presley’s iconic performances to the modern shows in the city. The suits worn by Bottas and Zhou will also contain the ‘flames’ theme as well as the kit worn by the team.

Audi signed Nico Hulkenberg without Sauber’s knowledge
One of Mattia Binotto’s first jobs when he replaced Andrea Seidl earlier this year was to sort out Sauber’s driver lineup for the 2025 season.
Audi previously stated that they wanted Carlos Sainz to drive for them next season, however the Spaniard instead opted to go to Williams.

Hulkenberg was reportedly signed by Audi without anyone in Sauber knowing, with the deal happening early on in the season.
The German will offer an experienced hand to Bortoleto, who will make his full-time F1 debut with the team and currently leads the F2 championship heading into the final rounds.
