The Hungarian Grand Prix is set to be an absolute scorcher and with the front of the grid converging with every race, outside factors may end up playing a crucial role in the result of the race.
Mercedes will be hoping to secure a third victory on the bounce which is something few associated with the Silver Arrows would have predicted after the opening race in Bahrain.
McLaren and Red Bull have the two fastest cars and will want to make up for missing out on victories they feel were in reach at the Red Bull Ring and Silverstone.
There’s added emphasis on Sunday’s race at the Hungaroring for Sergio Perez who is fighting for his Red Bull future.
Meanwhile, Ferrari appear to have dropped back behind the top three teams after a floor update created a horrible amount of bouncing and it’ll be interesting to see at the beginning of the weekend if they’ve managed to solve those issues.
Former F1 world champion Damon Hill was speaking about the Hungarian Grand Prix on the F1 Nation Podcast.
Predicting the result of a race now is a difficult task and Hill has proved in the past it’s not always his forte.
However, Hill has been seriously impressed by McLaren in recent races and believes both of their drivers could beat Max Verstappen in Hungary.
He then went one further and suggested that Lando Norris would once again get the better of Oscar Piastri.
Although he feels that the young Australian will have to play his part for Norris to win his second race of the season.

Damon Hill predicts Lando Norris to win the Hungarian Grand Prix
Asked to predict who will win at the Hungaroring, Hill said: “I think Red Bull, they seem to be on the slide a little bit.
“And I think the McLaren is going to be very good there and therefore I’m going to go for a McLaren one-two and then Max [Verstappen] third.
“I’m going to say Lando [Norris], I think Lando’s going to win, but I think Oscar [Piastri] could play his part.

“Maybe he could be the guy that Max can’t quite get past, but Mercedes the jury’s still out a little bit on whether their car will work at a place like Hungary.
“If it works there, all bets are off.”

Damon Hill’s thoughts on the Hungarian Grand Prix echoed by Guenther Steiner
Damon Hill isn’t the only person predicting McLaren to do well in Hungary on Sunday.
Former Haas team principal Guenther Steiner has also suggested Lando Norris could win the Hungarian Grand Prix, which may put some pressure on Zak Brown and Andrea Stella’s team.
McLaren should have won at Silverstone but made crucial errors with both Piastri and Norris’s strategies.
They should have double-stacked both of their drivers during the first stint with Piastri losing too much time by staying out for an extra lap.
Switching Norris onto the soft tyres rather than a brand new set of mediums would have at least guaranteed him 2nd and potentially given him a shot at overtaking Lewis Hamilton to secure victory.
McLaren have to get used to handling this level of pressure during races now that they’re in the mix for victory every weekend.
Norris and Piastri will be hoping for that additional level of support from the pit wall if they’re in a similar position this weekend.
