Williams F1 driver Logan Sargeant has admitted he thinks he’ll come away from the mid-season break in a stronger position than before the summer reset.

The 22-year-old has had an eventful start to life in Formula 1 and was reflecting on the upcoming pause in action, via The Athletic.

The season is now 12 races in and there’s been a very familiar feel about the top step of the podium.

Red Bull Racing have won every Grand Prix and are showing no signs of slowing down.

Although there’s now nearly a month before we got racing against in Zandvoort, it’s not an opportunity for the rest of the grid to catch up.

An enforced summer shutdown begins at the end of the week, with teams forced to stay away from the cars for two weeks.

It also gives drivers a chance to recover after one of the most intense starts to a season in F1 history.

Williams driver Logan Sargeant will be glad to have a break after the start of his Formula 1 career.

The rookie hasn’t been given the easiest car to drive but has shown signs of promise in his first dozen races.

He believes he can come back even stronger for the final 10 Grand Prix.

Speaking about his time off, Sargeant said: “These breaks really help me.

“I think it will be a really good chance for me to take a good week and a half off to have some time to myself, reset, and then dig back into it.

“I always come out stronger on the other side of a break.”

Sargeant has yet to score his first F1 point, with his best finish coming at Silverstone when he crossed the line in 11th.

The American rookie even predicted earlier in the year that his best finish would come at the British GP.

He’s got a tough act to follow in Alex Albon, who has been one of the most impressive drivers on the grid this year.

The Thai driver has finished in the top ten three times and scored every point for Williams so far.

The 22-year-old has admitted he’s trying to learn as much as he can from Albon this year.

Sargeant will be desperate to finish in the points for Williams once the summer break ends.

Zandvoort won’t be an easy track to achieve that, but he’ll have plenty of chances after their trip to the Netherlands to realize that top-ten finish.
