Racing Bulls driver Isack Hadjar will sleep very well after qualifying for the Dutch Grand Prix.

Everyone at Zandvoort was excited to see who would be fastest, with Oscar Piastri taking pole position narrowly ahead of McLaren teammate Lando Norris.

Unsurprisingly, Max Verstappen was the best of the rest behind the two McLarens, but fans got a shock when they saw who would be starting alongside him on the second row.

Isack Hadjar did not have a straightforward start to the weekend at the Dutch Grand Prix.

His Racing Bulls car broke down in FP2, leaving him very unprepared for qualifying.

2025 Dutch Grand Prix qualifying

That didn’t stop him from putting in one of the best laps of the season, leapfrogging teammate Liam Lawson, both Ferrari drivers and George Russell to earn his best qualifying result of his burgeoning Formula 1 career.

Hadjar has emerged as Red Bull’s frontrunner to replace Yuki Tsunoda, and with the Japanese driver marginally missing out on Q3, plenty of fans think his last lap at Zandvoort might have just sealed his future for 2026.

F1 fans think Red Bull will promote Isack Hadjar after Dutch Grand Prix qualifying performance

Reacting to a post from the official Formula 1 X account lauding Hadjar for his performance, many fans were quick to praise the Frenchman.

“Red Bull should just paint over his V-CARB and promote Hadjar,” one comment read, while another supporter said: “Impressive, give him that second Red Bull seat.”

Another fan commented: “Magnificent performance! It’s once again a qualification worthy of the best drivers. Isack Hadjar is the revelation of the 2025 season. He regularly amazes and no longer makes many mistakes.”

“Career-defining moment,” read one post, and another fan suggested: “Replace Tsunoda with him. He is so much better and more consistent.”

One fan claimed Hadjar was ‘the most underrated driver on the track,’ while another Formula 1 spectator suggested an alternative career path for Hadjar.

They claimed: “Red Bull will provide him the 2nd seat, which isn’t good. Isack deserves a seat at Mercedes or Ferrari.”

Isack Hadjar ‘very happy’ with Dutch Grand Prix qualifying result

Commenting on his Q3 performance in his official post-session interview, Hadjar said: “I’m finally pretty satisfied with what I did.

“To be honest, it was exactly the car I wanted,” he explained before going on to say he was ‘very happy’ with his result.

“It [the car] responded really well, especially on the last lap.

“That’s probably the best lap I’ve driven this year, because it’s a very difficult track and really demanding.

“I gave it my all, especially in the last corner. I thought I drove pretty well there and actually managed to gain a tenth of a second. That was special.

“If you look at Liam, he was pretty fast yesterday. The car is in good condition. It’s fast on one lap, so it will be fast on many laps.”

Hadjar didn’t say how much the car had been set up to concentrate on qualifying as opposed to race pace.

With the weather forecast for the Dutch Grand Prix still looking changeable, Hadjar may feel he’s not too far away from potentially claiming his first podium at Zandvoort on Sunday.
