Fernando Alonso has already shared one complaint while using Aston Martin’s simulator ahead of the 2024 Formula 1 season.

Aston Martin drivers Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso are already hard at work ahead of testing starting next month.

In a YouTube video released by the team, the experienced Spaniard can be seen getting to grips with the new car in the sim.

We’re just a few weeks away from getting our first glimpse of Aston Martin’s latest offering.

They will be hoping they can have an equally explosive start to this year as they did last year.

Alonso’s arrival from Alpine appeared to inspire an upturn within the team that saw the 42-year-old score six podiums in the first eight races.

He was extremely demanding during his first winter with the team and that’s unlikely to have changed this time around.

While in the Aston Martin simulator, Alonso has already shared some feedback with the team.

After more than 20 years in Formula 1, he knows exactly what he wants from his car and exactly what he needs to succeed.

It’s up to Aston Martin to make the fine tweaks ahead of the season beginning.

Alonso shares feedback to Aston Martin after simulator work

In the video shared by the manufacturer, Alonso can be seen talking the team through his time on track.

While driving the simulator, the Spanish racer said: “The most noticeable shift, so you do [turn] six, then you upshift and then you turn right to do seven and the steering is quite heavy and it takes a little bit of time.”

Alonso will want his car to be as responsive as possible, especially heading into the early part of the season where they have to tackle tight circuits such as Jeddah and Melbourne.

Aston Martin are heavily reliant on Alonso’s experience in the simulator when it comes to development.

Not only that, he was way out in front of his teammate in the points standings last year with Stroll failing to secure a single podium.

For Aston Martin to stay head of Alpine, Williams and Visa Cash App RB they need both drivers performing at their very best.

If Stroll can’t contribute sufficiently, he may end up losing his seat despite his father’s connection with the team.
