Former F1 driver Romain Grosjean has admitted that he thinks the new 2024 Mercedes looks like the best car on the grid this season.

The car launch season has come to an end and every team will be heading to Bahrain now for pre-season testing, hoping they can close the gap to a dominant Red Bull.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Grosjean was reviewing the cars from the top half of last season’s Constructors Championship ahead of the upcoming campaign.

Grosjean thinks Mercedes have the best-looking car in 2024

There was a common theme when many of the cars were revealed over the past two weeks.

Teams very rarely share every new detail on their new machines, with Red Bull almost certainly revealing a fake floor at their launch.

Williams didn’t even show their new car, only launching their new livery.

However, almost every team showed off a car with a lot more carbon fibre on show compared to their previous models.

The grid will look a lot more similar than it did in the past unless those liveries are updated before next weekend’s opening Grand Prix.

However, Romain Grosjean believes that the Mercedes have the best-looking car on the 2024 grid as they returned to a more silver livery.

With Lewis Hamilton set to compete for the final time for the team, they’ll hope the W15 is as quick as it looks to help the seven-time world champion return to the top step of the podium.

Mercedes need car to have substance as well as style

Speaking about Mercedes’s latest car, Grosjean said: “That is my favourite! [The] Mercedes F1 team, I think it’s the most good-looking car and I’m glad to see the Silver Arrow back on the track.

“It is the car that – apart from the Red Bull – I am the most intrigued to see on the track.

“I think there’s some very bold moves, I think there’s some very bold decisions made on the car.”

Excitement is building for the start of the 2024 season and as Grosjean says, a lot of attention will be on both Mercedes and Red Bull.

The current champions have taken inspiration from their nearest rivals while the rest of the grid moves towards a design resembling their 2023 car.

It will be fascinating to see who has gone in the right direction when everyone takes to the track in a couple of days.
