Dutch driver Nyck de Vries has spoken after his departure from AlphaTauri was confirmed last week.
The 28-year-old posted on Instagram to address his exit from the Italian team.
Nyck de Vries became the first casualty of the F1 grid this season after a disappointing start to the year.
Ten races into the season De Vries sits bottom of the Drivers’ Championship without a point to his name.
He was consistently out-qualified and outraced by teammate Yuki Tsunoda who has scored both of AlphaTauri’s points.

De Vries has been under pressure for some time and Red Bull chief Helmut Marko wasted no time getting rid of him.
Daniel Ricciardo has been drafted in to replace him and should be much tougher competition for the Japanese driver.
De Vries has now addressed his departure from AlphaTauri on Instagram after taking time to digest the decision.
He’ll be pleased to have received some support from one current driver on the grid.
De Vries sends message after AlphaTauri departure
Posting on his Instagram account, De Vries said: “A short note from me… After recent events, I decided to take some time for myself away from social media, which I will continue to do.
“I would like to thank Red Bull and Scuderia AlphaTauri for the opportunity to live my dream.
“Of course it hurts that the F1 chance I dreamed of for so long ended prematurely.
“But life is not a destination, it’s a journey, and sometimes you have to take the hard road to get where you want to be.

“I am grateful for our privileged lives, proud of our journey and my family.
“This is just another experience, we move on and look forward to the next chapter.
“Thank you to everyone for your kind and encouraging messages in the past week. It’s been heart-warming to feel your support.”
Zhou Guanyu replied to De Vries and sent him a love heart after his departure from AlphaTauri.

It will be interesting to see where De Vries is seen driving again next.
His Formula 1 dream might not be completely over, but it’s hard to see where his next opportunity comes from.
