Zak Brown has hinted at delivering Formula 1’s ‘ultimate experience’, which will involve Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.
Last weekend, McLaren finally arrived in the 2026 F1 season as Norris won the Sprint race ahead of Piastri and Charles Leclerc.
On Sunday, McLaren secured a double podium finish as Norris and Piastri finished behind the winner, Kimi Antonelli.
The Woking-based team will be expected to challenge Mercedes again when the season continues with the Canadian Grand Prix.

Zak Brown hints at F1’s ‘ultimate experience’ involving Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri
Looking ahead, with the increasing use of technology and AI, McLaren CEO Brown hinted at making F1’s ‘ultimate experience’.
The American stated that technology could allow people to race against Norris and Piastri at the Monaco Grand Prix in real time.
Brown said to The Race: “I think the one thing that we will see, and I think we have even spoken about in the past.
“From an E-Sports point of view, when we’re able to really properly put ourselves in races at the Monaco Grand Prix against Lando and Oscar in real time, that’s going to be cool and the ultimate experience.
“So, I do think that is coming. I think when that comes, the engagement from fans will be that much greater. It will get there.”

Zak Brown warns that technology could diminish the role of the driver
While technology and AI are now a big part of modern day life, Brown has hinted that it is not what the sport needs.
The 54-year-old said: “I think what you could do with Formula 1 cars, we don’t want to do with Formula 1 cars. Which is using technology and diminishing the role of the driver, no one wants that.
“We need to keep that balance. So that’s where the technology could go. I’m not saying autonomous, but you know, we had driver-assisted cars before, a long time ago, and they were banned, so that’s where they could go.
“What they’d be capable of, people wouldn’t kind of believe, but that’s where technology is. That’s not what the sport wants. So I don’t think that’s what we’ll see.
“I think a modern-day Formula 1 car with all this AI that’s going on, I think Formula 1 teams will operate and look different in five years’ time. But hopefully they will be awesome and fast with drivers going at it.”
