Oliver Bearman is amongst the latest elite, young British drivers enjoying a career in Formula 1, so here is everything to know about the Ferrari product racing with Haas.
The Briton will drive in Formula 1 from 2025 after Haas confirmed Bearman had agreed to a multi-year contract before the 2024 British GP. It also followed Ferrari ushering him into their car at the 2024 Saudi Arabian GP when Carlos Sainz underwent surgery for his appendicitis.
Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur only told Bearman that he was racing in Formula 1 and not Formula 2 at 13:30 local time (10:30 GMT) ahead of FP3. Yet Bearman qualified in P11, only missing out on the top 10 by 0.036 seconds, and scored points with his P7 finish.

Oliver Bearman replaced Carlos Sainz for his F1 debut at the 2024 Saudi Arabian GP with Ferrari
Seven-time Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton denied Bearman a Q3 appearance on his F1 debut. Yet a safety car period and strategy saw Bearman end the 2024 Saudi Arabian GP as the second-best Briton after George Russell. He rarely put a foot wrong in a composed drive.
His status as a reserve driver for Haas as well as Ferrari in 2024 also saw Bearman return to the F1 grid at that year’s Azerbaijan Grand Prix in a preview to his full-time position in 2025. Bearman replaced Kevin Magnussen for Haas in Baku with the Dane serving a one-race ban.
Magnussen would even recommend that Haas put Bearman in his car again at the 2024 Sao Paulo Grand Prix as the Dane was too unwell to compete in Brazil. But it even saw Bearman reach the threshold of three Grand Prix starts to no longer be officially classified as a rookie.
