The 2026 Formula 1 season kicks off with the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne, which has played host to the race since 1996.
The Albert Park Street Circuit is located near the business district of Melbourne in Australia and has returned to its original slot of being the season opener for the first time since the race was cancelled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Only a few select teams have won the Australian GP over the previous editions of the race. Similarly, only a few engine manufacturers have managed to power the winning car to victory.

Keke Rosberg and Williams win first Australian Grand Prix
Before it was held at Albert Park, the race took place on the streets of Adelaide with it first being held as the last race of the season in 1985.
The first winner of the race in Adelaide was Keke Rosberg driving for Williams ahead of Jacques Laffite and Philippe Streiff. It would mark the final time that Rosberg would win a race in F1.
After 10 years it would move to Albert Park following its final race in 1995, with Jaques Villeneuve going on to win the first race at Melbourne with Williams.
