It’s hard to imagine Red Bull driver Max Verstappen getting annoyed about anything to do with the 2023 Formula 1 season.
The Dutch driver broke record after record on his way to his third championship title that was secured after the Sprint Race in Qatar.
However, speaking on the Sky Sports F1 Podcast, reporter Ted Kravitz shared that not everything went the way of the 26-year-old.
Max Verstappen is unlikely to have another season in his career like the one he just experienced.
To win 19 out of 22 races is simply unheard of in any series, let alone Formula 1.
Not only that, plenty of races didn’t even require him to push the car as hard as it could have been.
The gap between Red Bull and the rest of the field should theoretically narrow over the winter which could make 2024 more difficult, but you sense Adrian Newey probably has a few more tricks up his speed.
However, not everything Verstappen’s way in 2023 and that left him slightly annoyed at times.

The 26-year-old is exceptionally professional and demands the very best from those around him.
Not only that, he’s very much not the biggest fan of losing on the rare occasions that he doesn’t take the chequered flag first.
Verstappen left annoyed at times during 2023 season
Speaking about the current F1 champion, Kravitz said: “There were some races that showed that you have to be perfect, Max [Verstappen] had to be perfect because there was enough of a competition left for them to be caught if they had slipped up in any way.
“Max himself hadn’t got to grips with the car in Azerbaijan and in Saudi Arabia where Checo [Perez] won, but after that, it was as if those disappointments and those annoyances [went away].
“And do you remember how annoyed he was after Saudi? Do you remember Checo celebrating and Jos [Verstappen] not wanting to say well done to Checo moment immediately, even though I think later he went to do so?
“So, Max was really annoyed and that’s what made him carry on so relentlessly for perfection.”
Verstappen getting annoyed with his teammate beating him wasn’t an ongoing trend during the 2023 season.
Sergio Perez’s form dipped slightly in Miami and while he struggled to rediscover it, Verstappen found another level.
His fanbase in the Netherlands has been compared to that of Ayrton Senna which shows exactly what level he’s reached within the sport.
Perez couldn’t help but praise his teammate at the end of the season but will be hoping to put up more of a fight next year.
You sort of get the sense that Verstappen would welcome more of a challenge after cantering to victory every week this year.
