Of all the drivers who don’t currently have a contract for the 2025 Formula 1 season, Logan Sargeant appears to be the most likely not to be on the grid next year.
Logan Sargeant has only scored a single point in his F1 career thus far – thanks in part to two disqualifications in Austin last year – although he came so close to a top-ten finish at Silverstone on Sunday.
Williams are considering a summer break switch, bringing in Esteban Ocon for Sargeant if Alpine decide to let him go in place of rookie Jack Doohan.
It would be a tough way for Sargeant’s Formula 1 career to come to an end as he’s not always had equal machinery when compared to teammate Alex Albon.
Sargeant has been linked with a move to IndyCar next season and there’s now talk that he could be joined by another driver on the grid.
A report from the French outlet Auto Hebdo has been talking about the driver’s market and the options available to those who haven’t put pen to paper just yet.
One of those drivers is Sauber star Valtteri Bottas who appears to be unlikely to stay at the team beyond the end of this year.

They’ve already signed Nico Hulkenberg and have plenty of drivers on their shortlist for next season, although two drivers have walked away from talks with Sauber.
Bottas also takes part in gravel cycling events outside of F1 and has plenty of other interests away from the sport.
Now, he could be offered the chance to race in the USA with plenty of interest in his services in IndyCar.

IndyCar teams have expressed an interest in hiring Valtteri Bottas
The report from Auto Hebdo spoke about the driver’s market and the many moving pieces at this stage of the season.
They believe that Esteban Ocon will be heading to Haas next year which will close off another option for Bottas on the grid.
Bottas is still an option for Williams – the team he started his journey in Formula 1 with back in 2013 – but that may still depend on where Carlos Sainz ends up.
The report goes on to say that in the event of ‘last-minute problems’, Bottas may have another option on the table.
That would be to race in IndyCar in 2025, where ‘several teams’ have expressed an interest in signing him.
However, they firmly believe that Bottas’s preference is to stay in Formula 1 beyond this year.

Valtteri Bottas unlikely to be offered ‘ideal’ seat for 2025
It’s been a very difficult season for Bottas and Sauber as they’ve yet to score a point at the halfway stage of the season.
The Finn now sits bottom of the Drivers’ Championship after Sargeant secured an 11th-place finish at Silverstone.
Bottas admitted his ideal solution for 2025 was to stay at Sauber and sign a contract that would see him become a part of the Audi set-up when they take over.
He’s not raced for a works team since his time with Mercedes where he helped the team win a plethora of Constructors’ Championship and while that’s very unlikely to happen at Audi, his experience would be valuable.
It’s not completely out of the question that he stays at Sauber with the manufacturer at the bottom of many driver’s list of options for next year.
IndyCar would represent a different challenge for Bottas and it’s a series several F1 drivers have taken up recently.
Marcus Ericsson has thrived in IndyCar since leaving Formula 1 and he’s currently on the grid with former Caterham driver Alexander Rossi and French star Romain Grosjean.
Bottas would fancy his chances in the series, especially racing up against several drivers who were never quite at his level in F1.
