Christian Horner and Helmut Marko might have some difficult decisions to make very soon.
They were always set to face a dilemma at some point in the season considering they have five drivers in the group competing for four seats.
Max Verstappen is nailed on to stay at Red Bull for as long as he wants to, while Yuki Tsunoda is already signed up for 2025 at Visa Cash App RB.
However, the future is much less certain for Sergio Perez and Daniel Ricciardo.
A report from F1 Insider has shared more information about both drivers’ futures as the summer break approaches.
Perez has clauses in his Red Bull contract that would allow the team to drop him after the Belgian Grand Prix.
That’s despite the 34-year-old only signing a new deal that would potentially take him to the end of the 2026 season just before the Canadian Grand Prix.
Daniel Ricciardo is the only driver in the current quartet who isn’t signed up for next season.
With Liam Lawson sitting in the garage every weekend waiting for his opportunity, his time in the sport might be coming to an end after another race where he was beaten in qualifying and the Grand Prix by his teammate.

Red Bull have made ‘certain’ decision on Daniel Ricciardo’s future
Helmut Marko has already made it clear that he sees Liam Lawson driving for one Visa Cash App RB in the near future.
He said to the Austrian publication Kleine Zeitung: “We have to put a young driver in there soon, that would be Liam Lawson.”
However, Lawson has now been linked with replacing Perez in the senior Red Bull team if his performances don’t improve soon.
It would be a risky step up considering the Kiwi only have five Grand Prix under his belt, but it’s hard to see him doing a worse job than Perez at this stage.

The report from F1 Insider suggests that Ricciardo might be in even more trouble than Perez.
They now think it’s ‘certain’ that Ricciardo’s career is ‘coming to an end’ and believe that Christian Horner no longer has the power to keep him in the car.
The suggestion is that Perez’s seat is under more threat from Tsunoda or Lawson, rather than Ricciardo.
Daniel Ricciardo and Sergio Perez racing for their Formula 1 futures
At the beginning of the season, there was a worry among Formula 1 fans that 2024 would be as much of a procession as 2023 with Red Bull starting the campaign at the front of the pack once again.
However, three teams have now closed the gap to Red Bull and the Austrian group are now providing another storyline in the ever-developing driver’s market.
The summer break does give teams the perfect opportunity to make changes to their line-ups.
Williams are considering switching Logan Sargeant with Esteban Ocon if he is released by Alpine, although that would be harsh off the back of his best race of the season.
Perez may still have an opportunity to save himself at Red Bull and the lack of an obvious alternative might keep him in a seat until the end of the season.
Ricciardo appears to be in much more trouble with Lawson testing for Red Bull and V-CARB ahead of the next race in Hungary.
