As the title battle heats up between Red Bull, Ferrari and McLaren, things are just as competitive towards the rear of the field.

The double podium scored by Alpine during the Sao Paulo Grand Prix has blown the battle for sixth in the Constructors’ Championship wide-open, with just five points between the French team, Haas and Visa CashApp RB.

RB has drafted in Liam Lawson to help their cause in the final races this season, following an underwhelming season for Daniel Ricciardo.

Now they appear to look set to add a ‘critical’ component from Red Bull’s RB20 to their car in Las Vegas according to a report from Formu1a.uno.

RB set to add RB20 suspension to their car in Las Vegas

It is no secret that RB shares resources with Red Bull owing to them being owned by the same parent company, with this year’s VCARB-01 effectively taking inspiration from the best of the RB19.

Much of that transition happened towards the end of last season, with the team getting parts on their car in the final races of 2023.

Now it appears the same will happen this year, albeit a lot later owning to the issues faced by Red Bull in the second half of the season with their floor and suspension.

According to Formu1a.uno, RB will be getting the latest suspension components from the RB20 which are more ‘critical’ to optimise compared to the older parts. Much of the internal mechanics have changed, including the rocker and third element.

It should reportedly add a tenth to their lap times, which could be key in their title battle for sixth worth millions in prize money at the end of the season.

Liam Lawson in ‘perfect’ scenario to replace Sergio Perez at Red Bull

The other storyline going on at RB is what could potentially happen to Lawson, given Perez is unlikely to retain his seat if he finishes the season over 100 points behind Max Verstappen in the championship.

Lawson has beat Perez in the last two races, with the latter finishing outside of the points in both races following a difficult qualifying and Sao Paulo and a collision between the pair in Mexico.

Red Bull can decide to fire Perez if they wish to according to reports, with rumours saying that it could even happen before Las Vegas.

Lawson has been told that he is in the ‘perfect’ scenario as he outperforms Perez, while the Mexico struggles in a car that is good enough to win races.
