Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon are still not on speaking terms despite recently appearing at a Paris Saint-Germain Champions League game together, according to a report.

Ocon and Gasly were shown attending the quarterfinal fixture against Liverpool during the enforced break in the F1 season, with Red Bull driver Isack Hadjar also present. The trio also appeared together on a Canal Plus show breaking down the season so far.

The French veterans were teammates at Alpine during the 2023 and 2024 seasons before Ocon left to join Haas. They had two high-profile incidents during their partnership, one in Australia that ended both of their races and another in Monaco that left both cars with damage.

Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon are still ‘bitter rivals’

According to Sport Bild, Gasly and Ocon didn’t go to the PSG game together ‘by choice’. Instead, they were both invited by the Ligue 1 club.

In private, the two drivers still ‘don’t speak to each other’. While they were ‘friends’ in karting, they remain ‘bitter rivals’.

Alpine dropped to the bottom of the standings in 2025 just after Ocon left, but they have seized the opportunity presented by the 2026 regulation changes. Gasly currently sits eighth in the championship with an impressive 15 points.

Meanwhile, his former teammate has only managed one point so far even though Haas and Alpine are on a similar level. Ocon’s future is uncertain after team principal Ayao Komatsu publicly demanded more.

Why did Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon fall out in the first place?

It’s been around 18 years since the two drivers fell out during their karting careers.

Speaking on an earlier season of Drive to Survive, Gasly said his ‘feud’ with Ocon dates back to 2008, when he was disqualified from a race after an intense battle. He had originally passed his friend on the last lap.

“I have given Esteban many, many chances to make this relationship work, but if someone doesn’t want to be friends, that’s fine with me,” he added.

Ocon ended up leaving the Alpine team early at the end of 2024, allowing Jack Doohan to make an early debut and receiving permission to test for Haas in return.
