Lando Norris made two key mistakes on the way to losing the Belgian Grand Prix to teammate Oscar Piastri.
The Briton started the race from pole after beating Piastri by 0.083s, but he swiftly lost the advantage when the race commenced, when Piastri pulled off an overtake in the first four corners.
Anthony Davidson noted how Piastri coaxed Norris into making an unfavourable line at La Source at the start, which compromised his run through Eau Rouge.
Norris would later be handed a strategic advantage by McLaren after being put onto the hard tyre, which was a step above the medium and meant he could push until the end.
But after another mistake at La Source on the penultimate lap cost him 1.2s, he would ultimately finish 3.4 seconds behind Piastri.
Nico Rosberg thinks Norris is making mistakes that will cost him the title, and draws a comparison to Lewis Hamilton when speaking on Sky Sports F1.

Nico Rosberg questions whether Lewis Hamilton would make same mistakes as Lando Norris
Rosberg has already said Piastri is his favourite to win the title, after watching his performances earlier this year compared to Norris.
The 2016 world champion believes he is making too many mistakes, and compared him to his old Mercedes teammate Hamilton in a similar scenario.
“Fair play to listen to Lando’s words that he was qualifying lap after qualifying lap on the edge and perhaps a couple of mistakes,” said Rosberg.
“I need to question whether someone like Lewis Hamilton would also make these mistakes? I’m not sure, pushing in a race when it’s Hammer Time. They don’t happen for him.”
Karun Chandhok makes McLaren title prediction
Although Piastri extends his lead in the Drivers’ Championship, he’s still only 16 points ahead of Norris in the Drivers’ Championship.
Norris had the opportunity to equal Piastri if he won both the Sprint and the main Grand Prix, but failed to capitalise in Sprint qualifying.
However, his pole lap was an impressive effort with the Briton edging his teammate despite being the slower of the pair in the previous sessions.
Karun Chandhok expects the title battle to go down to the wire between the McLaren drivers, predicting that they will be close on points until the final race in Abu Dhabi.
