Nico Rosberg has shared that he thinks Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur needs to learn Italian as quickly as possible.

Rosberg was speaking on the Sky Sports F1 Podcast after the Italian Grand Prix at Monza.

After last Saturday’s exploits, the Tifosi might have been hoping for a famous win.

Carlos Sainz took pole position ahead of an unstoppable Max Verstappen with Charles Leclerc not far behind.

The Spaniard managed to hold onto first place going into the first corner and Leclerc was keeping up with his teammate and the Dutchman stalked him lap after lap.

Unfortunately, Sainz couldn’t hold on forever and once Verstappen made his way past, he drove off into the distance.

His teammate Sergio Perez eventually joined him and the two Ferrari drivers were battling it out for the final spot on the podium.

They nearly made contact on a few occasions but took a very handy third and fourth at the end of the race.

Frederic Vasseur took over from Mattia Binotta at the end of 2022 and has overseen a decent campaign this year.

However, Rosberg has told Vasseur there’s something he needs to do to improve his time at Ferrari.

It’s not the easiest change but might be essential to his success with the team.

Rosberg shares advice for Ferrari boss Vasseur

Speaking about his first season in charge of the team, Rosberg said: “I think he’s building his reputation, but it’s the ultimate challenge to be in his position my goodness.

“To rebuild the Ferrari team with that pressure that’s on his shoulders.

“It’s really the biggest challenge there is, so I think he’s doing well so far.

“A big step to get the Tifosi on his side would be to get the Italian learnt, so he can speak to them in Italian.

“I challenged him on the Sky Sports microphone and all he could say was breakfast so he still has some way to go.

“How weird is that? For a French guy to be speaking English to Italian guys, that’s a bit weird.

“I think it would be of high importance to be able to speak Italian from time to time.”

Learning Italian does feel like a sensible suggestion from Rosberg to Vasseur to improve his time at Ferrari.

The team will be aiming for second place in the Constructors Championship this season with Mercedes, Aston Martin and McLaren breathing down their necks.

With both championships basically wrapped up, the race for second place is the most exciting thing in F1 right now.

Vasseur will earn a lot of credit if he can guide Ferrari to being the best of the rest.
